Hotel Savoy, a Rocco Forte Hotel in the heart of Florence, invites guests to discover its Spa Suite. Located on the 5th floor of the hotel, with breathtaking views over the city, the Spa offers a “wellness retreat” where guests can relax and indulge in treatments.
Each of the body and facial treatments have been created together with the professional experts of the ancient Officina, with the use of historical natural products of the highest quality. To indulge in a multisensory experience of relaxation, guests can choose to try the Aromatic Massage, with aromatic herb oil for psychophysical balance; the Exfoliating Massage, with natural Iris powder & Vitamin cosmetic oil to tone and nourish; and the Draining Massage, with dermo-protective oil. Additionally, for face care, guests can experience the innovative Face Touch and Hydranutri Facial, or alternatively the more traditional Back and Neck Massage with Arnica cream, or Reflexology with lavender oil.
Created as part of the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica, The Spa Suite is situated across 2 floors decorated in soothing tones of yellows, golds and greys. On the upper level, guests can enjoy the relaxation area offering an unrivalled 180-degree view over the city’s Renaissance landmarks and Florentine hills. The up-close view of the Duomo from the elegant treatment room on the lower floor creates an experience that is unique, fascinating and intriguing: a combination of exquisite Florentine history with the best techniques of contemporary wellness.
Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica was founded by Dominican friars in 1221, the year of their arrival in Florence. They used medicinal herbs grown in the monastic gardens to make medications, balms and pomades for the monks' infirmary. This was the beginning of the long history of the Pharmacy, which is deeply linked to the cultural, scientific and philosophical advances of Florence in the 13th century.
Guests staying in the Hotel Savoy’s suites will also have access to the Officina's private tour: a visit to the historical home of the Officina in Via della Scala, in the heart of the pharmacy’s production premises.
